Mt. View Gets Stuck for a Good Cause

Two women are taped to a wall in a gymnasium, with a banner between them and an American flag hanging in the background.

Mt. View Elementary proudly continued its meaningful tradition with the 2026 “Stuck for a Buck” event, bringing students and staff together for a fun-filled day of giving back. Organized by Mr. Schwartz, this beloved fundraiser once again combined creativity, laughter, and generosity in support of an important cause.

Students eagerly donated money in exchange for pieces of tape, which they used to “stick” willing teachers and staff members to the wall. The excitement in the room was contagious as students worked together to see just how much tape it would take to keep their favorite educators in place. This year, guidance counselor Miss Berlin and principal Mrs. Kolenski bravely took part and were successfully stuck to the wall, much to the delight of the students. Adding to the fun, the stuck staff members were also pied in the face, bringing even more laughter and cheers from the crowd.

While families were invited to contribute donations, the event itself was held during the school day and was not open for attendance. Even so, the support from the Mt. View community was strongly felt.

All proceeds from “Stuck for a Buck” benefit the Elle Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping children with cancer experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. This year’s event was a tremendous success, raising $1,325.75.

Over the past 17 years, 36 teachers and staff members—and even one principal—have been “stuck” for the cause, highlighting Mt. View’s ongoing commitment to making a difference.
